EOCCC Releases a new Character Education Resource

This resource was developed by Catholic educators in Eastern Ontario. It is a response to the call for character development in Ontario’s publicly funded elementary and secondary schools.Its contents draw on our deepest values as a Catholic educational community – values which shape the character of all who teach and learn in our schools. Family Life Program Refreshed

Pearson has released a refreshed Family Life program for Grades 1,2 3, 4 & 5. Two PowerPoints (Using the programs in a classroom & Changes and New Features) developed for the Grade 3 Fully Alive workshops were put together by Arlene Robinson of the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland Clarington CDSB.These are adaptations of the original PowerPoints produced by London CDSB & Sylvia Santin.

A Place of Honour

A new CARFLEO publication addressed to towards teaching Students at Risk by Tony Cosentino (Renfrew CDSB) and Joe Bezzina (London CDSB) called A Place of Honour Reaching Out to Students at Risk in Ontario Catholic Schools has been released.

Prospective Religion Teachers
 

The Concurrent Teacher Education Program (CTEP) in Religious Education is now in its second year, and has been designed to provide well-qualified teachers of Religious Education for Catholic High Schools in Ontario.

The Program integrates subject education and teacher education over five years. Students study for two degrees simultaneously at the University of Toronto: an Honours BA /BSc with a major in Christianity and Culture at St Mike’s, and a Bachelor of Education at OISE.
